  5. Serving...the Body and the city throgh deeds of love and mercy
  6. Reaching...the people of LaVista Park, Atlanta, and the world

The Vision Narrative:

For over a century, God has been faithful in the life of Westminster Presbyterian Church. We find ourselves standing on a foundation of faithful men and women who worshipped Christ and engaged the culture with the confidence in and commitment to the infallible Word of God. By God's abiding grace, this church family has had a consequential impact for Christ in the lives of its members, in the ministry of Camp Westminster, and in a vigorous emphasis on world missions. In years to come, we hope history will describe Westminster's opening decade of the 21st century as one of energetic renewal producing a conspicuous growth in spiritual maturity and effective engagement in the kingdom work of Christ...in our neighborhoods, Atlanta, and the world. We, like every era of the visible church, have not always done things well and have surely at times dishonored the Name of Christ. We repent of the sins of our history and renew our public desire to honor Christ in pursuing this 21st century mission and vision. In a continuing spirit of repentance of heart and dependance on Christ, we purpose to "press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ!" (Phil. 3:14)

To this end, we pray, plan and purpose! The session of Westminster is challenging the Westminster family to imagine how we might realize such a vision in the next five years. We have set challenging goals...with God's blessing, they are attainable!

Robert Browning said, "A man's reach should exceed his grasp or what's a heaven for?" We amend to exclaim...A man's reach should always exceed his grasp with the certainty of the grace, power, and presence of the Holy Spirit! Such is ours in Christ!
